The Company
The BTR Hub is a UK recruitment, training and compliance specialist focused on the healthcare sector.
Its core work is training ambulance crews and support staff, including Ambulance Care Assistants and patient transport drivers who go on to work for providers serving the NHS.
That position carries expectations. When your trainees move patients, the organizations that hire them want proof that quality is managed rather than assumed. In healthcare supply chains, ISO 9001 is often the form that proof takes: a certificate from an accredited body showing an external auditor has examined how the business actually runs.
The BTR Hub does all of this with a team of six. Everyone delivers client work. There is no back office, and until late 2025 there was no formal quality management system either
01- THE CHALLENGE
Achieving ISO 9001 Without Internal Compliance Expertise
The BTR Hub knew what it needed: ISO 9001 certification. What it lacked was everything required to get there. Nobody on the team had a compliance background, there was no internal support to lean on, and no clear sense of what a certification audit would actually ask of a company this size.
The usual answers didn’t fit. Hiring a quality manager makes no sense at six people. Going it alone risked months of guesswork that could still end in a failed audit. So The BTR Hub contacted Axipro with a direct brief: get us certified.

A Practical Path to ISO 9001 Certification

The project kicked off on September 29, 2025. Axipro ran it without any compliance platform, building the documentation in the client’s existing SharePoint and handling day-to-day communication over Teams. For a small team, staying inside familiar tools mattered: nobody had to learn new software on top of learning a new standard.
Scoping came first. The quality management system was designed around how a six-person training provider actually operates, not adapted down from a template written for a company thirty times the size. That kept the documentation short enough to be used rather than filed.
● From risk assessment to audit-ready in five working weeks.
Axipro ran the build on a weekly cadence with a defined deliverable at each step: risk assessment early in the project, quality policies and procedures written to match The BTR Hub’s real processes, then continuity planning and management review, and finally audit readiness in the closing stretch.
For the client, the structure did most of the heavy lifting. Each week the team knew exactly what Axipro needed from them and when, which kept the project from competing with the training delivery that pays the bills.

Certification ran through British Assessment Bureau, a UKAS-accredited certification body. The accreditation matters more than it might seem: it’s what makes the certificate carry weight with NHS-linked buyers and tender panels, rather than being a logo anyone could purchase.
The BTR Hub went into its first external audit weeks after starting from zero and closed the project certified on October 31, 2025.
03- THE RESULTS
Beyond Certification: A Long-Term Security Partnership
Six weeks after kickoff, the BTR Hub held a UKAS-accredited ISO 9001 certificate issued through British Assessment Bureau. It got there with no new hires, no quality manager, and no compliance software subscription, just its existing team of six and a structured external build.
For a company whose customers sit in the NHS supply chain, that certificate now does commercial work: it answers the quality question in tenders and client conversations before anyone has to ask it.
